A Coat Rack on Some Down Time.

This week, I had a little down time, and I have been meaning to build a coat rack.  There is no time like the present, so let’s dive right in.

Because not everyone has the tools to cut dados and rabbets, this rack was designed to be fastened with screws.  Even so, it is very sturdy, and a great looking DIY project.  The most advanced technique will be a radius on a router table, but even that is optional.  The only tool that isn’t all that common that I will be using is a pocket screw jig.  If you don’t have one, you can still build this rack, but you will have your screws visible, where a pocket hole jig lets you have invisible fasteners.  Even more, pocket screw jigs are available at all of the big box stores, and this project might be the excuse you needed to buy one!

Follow along with the build, and make your own coat rack.  You’ll be glad you did, and it’ll look great in your home.
